Rupert Neve, whose name is synonymous with some of pro audio’s most well-regarded recording and mixing equipment, passed away in February. Over a career that lasted more than 70 years, Neve’s designs covered many areas of professional audio including recording and mixing, live sound, radio, and more. Neve’s consoles, with their revered mic preamps, EQs, and processing modules, have stamped the sound of an uncountable number of music releases and are, to many, considered unbeatable in sound quality. Whether via hardware components, interfaces, or software plugins, Rupert Neve’s vision of sound will continue to be heard and celebrated for years to come. The CAS extends our condolences to the family, friends, and colleagues of Mr. Neve.
