LOS ANGELES — Nov. 26, 2024 — In response to feedback from its members and careful deliberation by the Board of Directors, the Cinema Audio Society (CAS) has updated the eligibility period for television submissions. Moving forward, the eligibility window for television will now align with that of feature films and animation.
These eligibility changes take effect immediately. The eligibility period for television submissions for the 61st Awards now spans November 1, 2023, through December 31, 2024. To accommodate this adjustment, the submission deadline has been extended to December 10, 2024.
Revised 61st CAS Awards Timeline:
- Entry Submissions due Online – 5 p.m. PT, Tuesday, Dec. 10, 2024
- Nomination Ballot Voting Begins Online – Thursday, Dec. 19, 2024
- Nomination Ballot Voting Ends Online – 5 p.m. PT, Thursday, Jan. 2, 2025
- Final Nominees in each category announced – Tuesday, Jan. 7, 2025
- Nominee listing error and omission deadline – Friday, Jan. 17, 2025
- Final Voting Begins Online – Thursday, Jan. 30, 2025
- Final Voting Ends Online – 5 p.m. PT, Tuesday, Feb. 11, 2025
- 61st Annual CAS Awards – Saturday, Feb. 22, 2025

About the CAS Awards
The 61st CAS Awards will honor Outstanding Achievements in Sound Mixing in seven categories: Motion Pictures – Live Action, Motion Pictures – Animated, Motion Pictures – Documentary, Non-Theatrical Motion Pictures or Limited Series, Television Series – One Hour, Television Series – Half Hour and Television Non-Fiction, Variety or Music – Series or Specials. The Career Achievement Honor will be presented to Tod A. Maitland CAS and the Filmmaker Honor to Denis Villeneuve. The CAS Student Recognition Award will also be presented.

Formed in 1964, The Cinema Audio Society is dedicated to sharing information with and about sound mixers in the Motion Picture and Television Industry.
