Cinema Audio Society Sets Date for 63rd and 64th Annual CAS Awards

April 08, 2026 (LOS ANGELES, Calif.) — The Cinema Audio Society (CAS) has set its timeline for the 63rd Annual CAS Awards, which will take place on Saturday, March 6, 2027. The 64th Annual CAS Awards will take place on Saturday, February 26, 2028.

Every year, the CAS Awards recognize Outstanding Sound Mixing in film and television, along with an annual Student Recognition Award, the CAS Career Achievement Award and the CAS Filmmaker Award.

The application window and schedule for the newly established Jeffrey S. Wexler Award for Advancement in Sound technology will be announced in early May. 

“Our community of sound professionals continues to raise the bar year after year,” said Cinema Audio Society President, Peter Kurland CAS. “The CAS is proud to shine a spotlight on their remarkable work. We anticipate a great celebration of the best in sound mixing at the 63rd CAS Awards.”

 

63rd CAS Awards Timeline:

The entry submission form will be available online on Tuesday, October 27, 2026, on the CAS website at: www.cinemaaudiosociety.org.

  • Entry Submissions due Online – 5 p.m. PT, Monday, December 7, 2026
  • Final Voting Voting Ends Online – 5 p.m. PT, Thursday, February 18, 2027
  • Final Nominees in each category announced – Tuesday, January 12, 2027
  • Nominee listing error and omission deadline – Friday, January 22, 2027
  • Final Voting Ends Online – 5 p.m. PT, Tuesday, February 18, 2027
  • 63rd Annual CAS Awards – Saturday, March 6, 2027

About the CAS Awards:

The 63rd CAS Awards will honor Outstanding Achievements in Sound Mixing in seven categories: Motion Pictures – Live Action, Motion Pictures – Animated, Motion Pictures – Documentary, Non-Theatrical Motion Pictures or Limited Series, Television Series – One Hour, Television Series – Half Hour and Television Non-Fiction, Variety or Music – Series or Specials. The CAS Student Recognition Award, Career Achievement Award, and Filmmaker Awards will also be presented.
