Greasley is a Los Angeles based, Brit-transplant sound designer, re-recording mixer, and general maker of noise. His more recent credits skew pretty heavily science fiction, science fact, and horror, which is great because he enjoys all of those things. Just as at home mixing sound effects as dialogue and music, he is happiest with a giant session of aliens, spaceships, explosions, and generally weird sounds in front of him. With sound credentials going back to the 1990s, Greasley has recorded in studios both sides of the Atlantic with his previous band, Apartment 26 (named for a David Lynch reference), most notably Peter Gabriel’s Real World Studios, NRG, and what used to be Cello (now East West). Fully devoted to film sound now, Greasley brings a sense of musicality and rhythm to his sound design work, and still plays guitar and drums when schedules allow, occasionally releasing music under the moniker WinstonDeath.
With a career spanning almost 30 years, Marc draws upon his extensive experience that includes both feature films and broadcast content. This encompasses a myriad of genres, including comedies such as Ted 2, Bridesmaids, Mean Girls, Superbad and “Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist” – to action fare such as The Old Guard, Power Rangers and Fury.”
As a dialog and music re-recording mixer, he has also helped craft the soundtracks on dramas such as “John Adams,” “Little Fires Everywhere” and Crash – and genre bending series like ‘The Last of Us,” “Lovecraft Country,” “The Sympathizer” and “IT: Welcome to Derry”.
After studying at USC and Full Sail University, Marc worked for six years in sound editorial and supervision, before refocusing solely on mixing.
He is a proud member of the Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences, the Academy Of Television Arts and Sciences and the Cinema Audio Society. He currently serves on the board of directors for CAS and is also the co-governor of the sound mixers peer group at the TV Academy.
Charles Dayton, an Emmy and 2-time Golden reel nominee, has been a member of the CAS since 2004. In 1995 he started as a Foley and ADR mixer, and has been working as a rerecording mixer since 1999. In 2005, he opened Twisted Avocado Post Audio, a boutique post facility. He has been mixing Penn and Teller: Fool Us for the past 12 seasons. His other credits include multiple documentaries, independent features, TV movies, BTS, reality TV, game shows and trailers. He is also a member of the CAS events committee, the MPSE, and was elected to the executive committee of the Los Angeles AES section
