Don C. Rogers CAS
Technical director of sound and Academy Award recipient Donald C. Rogers CAS passed away on January 4th; he was 94. Don credits from his start in the 1950s include roles such as playback operator, boom operator, and then onto sound recordist. His primary role of “technical director of sound” carried his work from the early ‘70s to the 1990s, with credits including some of the most noted films of their time including Nashville, The Last Waltz, The Right Stuff, Field of Dream, The Shawshank Redemption, and Se7en, among many others. Don was the recipient of the Academy Awards’ prestigious Gordon E. Sawyer Award in 1996 for his technical contributions to the industry. He is survived by his wife Liz and son Bill.
