Martin “Marty” Cohen | Post-production Executive
Longtime post-production staple, Marty Cohen, passed away in May. Marty, who had a revelation when he saw The Exorcist, stated, “All of a sudden, it dawned on me, you can have a career making movies!” He then spent 40 years working in post-production, climbing his way from apprentice picture editor to post-production executive, and holding positions at Amblin, DreamWorks, and Paramount. Marty, who was the recipient of MPEG’s Fellowship and Service Award this past fall worked on dozens of films, including overseeing the restoration of The Godfather and Jaws and acting as co-producer on The Hunger Games. The CAS extends our condolences to Marty’s friends, family, and colleagues.
