The Cinema Audio Society (CAS) has joined the efforts of Safe&Sound Ukraine, a grassroots fundraising effort co-founded by Xenia Vinogradova, a Kyiv-based production sound mixer. With the partnership of United Help Ukraine, a US 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, Safe&Sound aims to raise $200,000 for aid, rescue, supplies, and evacuation for those in Ukraine.
As reported by Deadline Hollywood, the group has raised $85,000 to date.
The Cinema Audio Society has donated as well as become an official supporter and partner of Sound&Safe, joining the efforts of the Association of Motion Picture Sound, Gotham Sound, LA Sound Mixers, and Motion Picture Sound Editors, who similarly support the movement.
President of the Cinema Audio Society Karol Urban told Deadline that the “CAS is proud to join others in the sound community to support the humanitarian efforts of Safe&Sound Ukraine,” and applauds “all that Xenia and her colleagues are doing to improve the lives of the affected citizens in Ukraine.”
