The Cinema Audio Society wants to ensure all members are aware of the process to be elected to our Board of Directors.All members eligible to run for election can be found via the link above.
To be eligible you must be:
- A full active member
- In good standing on December 31st, 2020
- Not at the end of serving two consecutive terms
The Ballot consists of two parts, the Mixing and Product awards voting and the Board of Directors Election Ballot.
The Board of Directors ballot consists of four sections. Two Executive Officer sections and Two Board Member sections (Production and Post).
Each section holds information on the incumbents in that area along with spaces to write in choices from the eligible members listed in the click-through above. If writing in a candidate please ensure you have spoken to them and they are willing to serve.
- Nomination Ballot Ends Online – 5:00 pm PST. Wednesday, February 24, 2021
Following the closing of the nomination ballot, all nominees will be contacted by their email on file to confirm their willingness to serve and asked to submit a brief Bio and Headshot.
- Those willing to serve will appear on the final ballot which opens for voting on Thursday, March 25, 2021
- Final Voting Ends Online – 5:00 pm PST, Tuesday, April 6, 2020
The newly elected Board of Directors will be announced at the virtual 57th Annual CAS Awards Saturday, April 17, 2021, Los Angeles, California.
About the Cinema Audio Society:
The Cinema Audio Society was formed in 1964 for the purpose of sharing information with Sound Professionals in the Motion Picture and Television Industry.
The objectives of the CAS are: to educate and inform the general public and the motion picture & television industry that effective sound is achieved by a creative, artistic and technical blending of diverse sound elements; to provide the motion picture & television industry with a progressive society of master craftsmen specialized in the art of creative cinematic sound recording; to advance the specialized field of cinematic sound recording by exchange of ideas, methods, and information; to advance the art of auditory appreciation, and to philanthropically support those causes dedicated to the sense of hearing; to institute and maintain high standards of conduct and craftsmanship among our members; to aid the motion picture & television industry in the selection and training of qualified personnel in the unique field of cinematic sound recording and to achieve for our members deserved recognition as major contributors to the field of motion picture & television entertainment.
